PUBLISHING UPDATES

I am so excited to be looking for our first book together. This week we announced Pitchfest. From December 4-December 6 unagented authors can submit their manuscripts to these Bindery imprints (including Boozhoo Books!) Agented authors can submit anytime here . Our imprint is looking for genre fiction! I can't wait for this process to start!

Because much of the publishing process is going to be shared with Paid Subscribers, now might be a good time to upgrade your account. All paid subscribers participate in the publishing process, including helping with some decisions! All subscribers get copies of the book ($5- e copies, $12 and $25 physical copies) and $12 and $25 get a THANK YOU in the BOOK! which is just about the coolest thing I've heard. A portion of the member fee goes into the production of the books. You may have heard me say this, but I want to publish as many books as we can! The current model for Bindery is 1-2 books for year. I'd love to be able to publish more! If you can afford to help make that happen, your support would be deeply appreciated!

UPCOMING EVENTS

* Quiet Time Reading Club, every Monday at 5pm PST/7pm CST, we meet on Zoom and read for 30 minutes, then chat books for 30 minutes. Great way to meet new book friends and hear about new books. Event is open to all tiers.

***Thanksgiving TBR Smashing Readathon, **this holiday weekend, we are reading as much as we can and chatting about books and other things on a dedicated Discord channel. If you havent joined the Discord yet, connect directly through Bindery. This is event is open to all tiers on a publich discord channel. (If you recently upgraded your account, please reconnect your Discord through Bindery as there is a channel for paid members).

***January BIG BOOK Readathon, **this is another Discord readathon that will take place for the entire month ( you can complete the task anytime during the month): the goal: READ THE BIGGEST BOOK ON YOUR TBR, or the book that has been on your TBR for way too long, or the series that everyone has finished! I know you've been putting it off. Let's start the year off with a bang!

CURRENTLY READING

I am currently reading my Women in Horror book club selection: American Rapture by CJ Leede. (This bookclub is on Fable). This is a religious apocolyptic horror. It's quite scary.

Next up: The selections for my Good Day to Read Indigenous Book Club (on Fable) A Council for Dolls by Mona Susan Power. I'm hoping to start and finish this one this week.

BOOKS TO ADD TO "WANT TO READ" on GOODREADS

I am working on my spreadsheet for Indigenous 2025 releases, but right now I need everyone to add **Big Chief by Jon Hickey **to their Goodreads Want to Read Shelves! This book has been described as There, There (Tommy Orange) meets The Nightwatchman (Louise Erdirch). Those are some incredible comparisons!
