Why Upgrade Today

Indigenous authors make up less than 2% of traditional publishing. Currently, there is only one traditionally published Indigenous romance on store shelves. We deserve to have more options. We deserve to have multiple options in every genre. Together, we can put more Indigenous stories out into the world and work together to promote and uplift those who have already made it.

Traditional publishing usually spends its marketing dollars on white authors. Bindery's model ensures that our authors will not have to worry about that. The authors will also have more control over their stories (and covers).

Supporting an Indigenous led publishing imprint helps make sure our stories are told by us and handled with the care and respect they deserve. This is critical to ensure accurate representation. Finding an agent and getting a book deal is no easy task. Your support of this imprint will help break down some of the barriers Indigenous authors have to getting their stories heard.

Supporting Indigenous led publishing is truly an act of allyship. If you're looking for a tangible way to fight back against this fascist administration, supporting the voices of the marginalized for less than the cost of a cup of coffee or the cost of a salad once a month is a great way to do it!

Did you know I started a BOOK TUBE and that I currently have 298 subscribers and if I don't reach 300 shortly, I might spiral because I have a weird thing about numbers. If you like someone whose shelves are representative of their mental health and doesn't fit into the typical Book Tube aesthetic, perhaps I could be for you! I would love to hear what kind of long form content you would like to see from me!
